Tokyo: Bright Lights, Luxury & Adventure
May 14–20, 2026
Our Tokyo Home: Hyatt Regency Tokyo
Our journey began with a stay at Hyatt Regency Tokyo, located in the energetic Shinjuku district.
This hotel was selected as our home base for exploring Tokyo and its surrounding destinations. Its location provided access to restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and public transportation, making it convenient for both our scheduled excursions and independent adventures.
A Welcome Dinner at Rokkasen
Our welcome dinner was planned at Rokkasen, a Japanese barbecue restaurant known for its all-you-can-eat-and-drink dining experience.
Gathering around the table at the beginning of a group journey is always special. It's an opportunity to reconnect, meet fellow travelers, share excitement, and set the tone for the experiences ahead.
Discovering Tokyo's Culture
Our Tokyo itinerary featured a guided city tour aboard a private charter bus, offering a look at the city's blend of historic landmarks and modern attractions.
A traditional Japanese tea experience introduced us to the country's customs of hospitality, mindfulness, and intentional living.
We also included an excursion to Kamakura, a coastal destination celebrated for its temples, shrines, and samurai-era history.
The itinerary highlighted the famous Great Buddha of Kamakura, one of Japan's most recognizable cultural landmarks.
Tokyo Adventures: Something for Everyone
We intentionally reserved time for travelers to experience Tokyo according to their interests.
Among the optional activities were:
- teamLab Planets TOKYO, an immersive digital art experience.
- Tokyo Dome City, featuring entertainment, dining, shopping, and attractions.
- Tokyo Disney Resort, for travelers wanting a theme park adventure.
- Ginza, known for luxury shopping and elegant department stores.
- Shibuya and Harajuku, celebrated for fashion, entertainment, and Tokyo's youthful energy.
Our itinerary also offered the opportunity to experience a Mario Kart-inspired city adventure or explore Tokyo aboard a hop-on, hop-off sightseeing bus.
The freedom to personalize parts of the journey is something I value when curating Seën Retreats experiences.
Mount Fuji: A Scenic Escape
One of our signature scheduled excursions was a private charter tour to the iconic Mount Fuji region.
Our itinerary included scenic sightseeing, mountain views, lakeside landscapes, and opportunities for photographs.
Mount Fuji's natural beauty and cultural significance made this excursion a meaningful part of our Japanese adventure.
Tokyo's Culinary Scene
Tokyo offered an incredible variety of dining options beyond our welcome celebration.
Our itinerary featured Shinjuku-tei, known for its premium halal Wagyu ramen, and Wine Shokudo Blumare, an Italian wine bistro near Shinjuku Station.
We also highlighted the Nineteen Eighty Lounge & Bar at Hyatt Regency Tokyo as an optional setting for cocktails and dining.
From Japanese barbecue to Wagyu ramen and international cuisine, Tokyo provided opportunities to explore an extraordinary culinary landscape.
Kyoto: Tradition, Elegance & Cultural Discovery
May 20–22, 2026
Our next destination was Kyoto, a city known for its historic temples, traditional architecture, beautiful gardens, and rich cultural heritage.
Our Kyoto Stay: Hilton Kyoto
We selected Hilton Kyoto for this portion of the journey.
Our itinerary included a Kyoto city highlights tour upon arrival, introducing travelers to the city's cultural character.
Kyoto offered a beautiful contrast to Tokyo, inviting us to slow down and appreciate the traditions that have shaped Japanese culture for centuries.
Kimono & Traditional Tea Ceremony
One of the most elegant signature activities on our itinerary was a traditional kimono and tea ceremony experience.
Dressing in kimono attire and participating in a formal tea ceremony offered an opportunity to learn about the rituals, grace, and attention to detail associated with Japanese hospitality.
For additional background on Kyoto's tea culture, visit the official Kyoto tourism website.
Experiences like these represent the heart of Seën Retreats: meaningful cultural immersion that goes beyond traditional sightseeing.
Dining in Kyoto
Our itinerary also featured Osteria Italiana 7 EMBERS, an Italian restaurant highlighting handmade pasta, sourdough pizza, and dishes inspired by seasonal ingredients.
This optional dining experience reflected our approach to offering variety while exploring Japan's diverse restaurant scene.
Osaka: Culinary Discoveries & Vibrant City Life
May 22–24, 2026
Our final destination was Osaka, known for its lively atmosphere, entertainment districts, and remarkable food culture.
Our Osaka Home: Hotel New Otani Osaka
Our accommodations were arranged at Hotel New Otani Osaka, located near the Osaka Castle area.
The hotel provided a comfortable setting for the final portion of our journey, with opportunities to explore nearby attractions and enjoy the city's energetic atmosphere.
Discovering Dotonbori
Our itinerary highlighted Dotonbori, one of Osaka's best-known entertainment and dining districts.
Famous for its illuminated signs, canal-side scenery, and street-food culture, Dotonbori offers a lively introduction to Osaka.
Among the local specialties highlighted were takoyaki, savory octopus-filled snacks, and kushikatsu, delicious skewered and fried ingredients.
Osaka Culinary Food Tour
Our final full day featured a scheduled guided culinary food tour.
Often called Japan's Kitchen, Osaka is celebrated for its casual dining culture, local specialties, and bustling food districts.
The excursion was designed to introduce travelers to traditional flavors, neighborhood food spots, and the culinary experiences that make Osaka such a memorable destination.
Food has a wonderful way of bringing people together. Sharing meals and discovering new flavors can turn an ordinary evening into a lasting memory.
Three Cities, One Thoughtfully Curated Journey
What made our Japan itinerary special was the balance between organized experiences and personal exploration.
Across Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, our journey featured:
- Three carefully selected hotels.
- Private charter transportation for major excursions and city transfers.
- Cultural tours and traditional Japanese experiences.
- Historic landmarks and scenic destinations.
- A welcome dinner and a guided Osaka culinary excursion.
- Flexible days for shopping, entertainment, and independent discovery.
Every element was selected to create a journey that felt organized, enriching, and enjoyable without sacrificing the freedom to explore.
More Than Travel. An Experience to Be Seën.
When I founded Seën Retreats, my vision was to create more than beautiful vacations.
I wanted to design journeys that encourage people to step outside their everyday routines, experience different cultures, connect with others, and discover something new about themselves. Japan was a beautiful expression of that vision.
From Tokyo's modern sophistication to Kyoto's cultural elegance and Osaka's culinary energy, this journey reflected the experiences that make travel so rewarding.
To our Japan travelers, thank you for being part of this special chapter in the Seën Retreats story.
And to everyone dreaming of your next adventure, I hope this journey inspires you to explore somewhere new, embrace a different culture, and create memories of your own.
The world is waiting. Your next extraordinary experience is calling.
Escape. Elevate. Be Seën.
